NIPT Test

It's been a whirlwind over here for the past couple of weeks, so I apologize for taking a hiatus with my blog posts.

I'll share the exciting news soon of what's been happening over here, but for now I wanted to continue sharing about our surrogacy journey.

Our first OB appointment was 5/31 and I was very happy with how it went. Our GC made sure to involve us through FaceTime and the OB was also great with us. Since they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doplar machine, she ended up doing an ultrasound and we got to see the little guy. Our baby was measuring at 12 weeks and 4 days and everything was right on point.

The next step is to do the Nipt test, this test is to see if the embryo is low risk for chromosome abnormalities. Even though we paid extra for the embryos to be pgt tested, it isn't 100%, so this is the next level of check up to make sure all is good.

Unfortunately we have done two samples and both of them have come back with no results. The lab is saying the inconclusive results are due to it being a surrogacy. Either way, I'm pretty bummed out to not have the results already. My thought would be that we would share the news with everyone after I received these tests. It's kinda funny writing that since I'm here blogging about it. But only a fraction of my friends even know that I'm blogging about this, so I'm looking forward to sharing it with a picture of Logan with a big brother shirt.

Today our GC is 14 weeks and 1 day and it's surreal that we are in the second trimester. Logan has even been asking more about his little brother which warms my heart ❤️
