DR-Babymoon

I love the idea of a babymoon. It's such a nice time to just be with your husband kid free before the chaos of a newborn starts. Even though its a beautiful moment it is sure going to add stress to everyone's lives. When I was pregnant with Logan we went to Hawaii and it was pure bliss. This babymoon was a bit different. Being away from your kid for a long time is hard, but Rich and I both agreed it was really important for us to reset to also be good parents. We decided to go to the DR and stay in an all inclusive.

Secrets Cap Cana was a dream. We booked a 7 night stay in an ocean front swim out room and thoroughly enjoyed the resort. It was also my birthday, so we planned a couple excursions while we were there. I think for me it made it easier to be there during my birthday because it was easier to say that than that we were on a babymoon. It's a weird sense of guilt/ shame that I don't have a huge belly to show off on my babymoon, and then if I were to say babymoon I would then have to explain the story. At least for me that's how it feels.

There were a few people we connected with on the trip that I ended up sharing it with, but the bulk of the trip we really spent having a wonderful time with each other. There was a mixture of relaxation, adventure and "party time". We had fabulous dinners, endless sunshine, naps, and much needed down time. I would highly recommend this resort, but knowing that it's not a party scene, most people were done by 10:30pm and that was perfect for us! I think the most thing we appreciate is being able to sleep without a monitor by your head...I'm sure most parents can relate 😂

The seven days went by appropriately and by the end of it, this was the first vacation that I was truly content to be heading back home and felt refreshed. I set zero expectations for this trip and it exceeded what I was looking for out of it. With this being the first relaxing trip Rich and I took without Logan and without other friends since Logan was born, it was a success! We are very lucky to have family available to be with Logan and know that he is well taken care of. I know most people may not be able to do a babymoon, especially after your first, but if possible to even do a night away I would highly recommend it.

If anyone is interested in the full itenerary of our trip and the excursions, just shoot me a message! I always research a ton and pick the best business/ places to see. And I also plan very well at the all inclusives. I love the Secrets resorts and they are in several destinations!
